1. Smoked sausage, cut into bite-sized pieces - 3 pounds
2. Dark red kidney beans, drained and rinsed - 8 (15 ounce) cans
3. Water - 4 cups
4. Uncooked white rice - 2 cups
5. Onion, chopped - 1 large
6. Minced garlic - 6 tablespoons
7. Cajun seasoning - 2 tablespoons
8. Hot pepper sauce, or to taste - 4 dashes
9. Salt, or to taste - 1 teaspoon
10. Bay leaf - 1

How to cook deliciously - Smoked Sausage and Red Beans

1. Stage

In a 6-quart or larger slow cooker, combine smoked sausage, kidney beans, water, rice, onion, and garlic. Season with Cajun seasoning, hot pepper sauce, salt, and bay leaf. Cover and set on High. Once mixture is heated through, stir until well combined.

Cover and cook on Low for 6 hours or High for 4 hours.
