2. White onion, diced - ½
3. Garlic, chopped - 2 cloves
4. Collard greens, stems removed and leaves torn into bite-size pieces - 1 bunch
5. Red pepper flakes - ½ teaspoon
6. Vegetable broth - 2 cups
7. Apple cider vinegar - 2 tablespoons
8. Brown sugar - 1 teaspoon
9. Liquid smoke flavoring - ¼ teaspoon
10. Smoked paprika - ¼ teaspoon

How to cook deliciously - Smoky Vegetarian Collard Greens

1. Stage

Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add onion and garlic; sauté until browned and fragrant, 3 to 4 minutes. Add collard greens and red pepper flakes; cook and stir until greens are slightly wilted, 2 to 3 minutes.

Add broth, vinegar, brown sugar, liquid smoke, and paprika to the pan. Cover and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Reduce the heat and simmer until greens are very tender, 35 to 45 minutes. Strain before serving.
