2. White onion, diced ½
3. Garlic, chopped 2 cloves
4. Collard greens, stems removed and leaves torn into bite-size pieces 1 bunch
5. Red pepper flakes ½ teaspoon
6. Vegetable broth 2 cups
7. Apple cider vinegar 2 tablespoons
8. Brown sugar 1 teaspoon
9. Liquid smoke flavoring ¼ teaspoon
10. Smoked paprika ¼ teaspoon

1 . Stage

Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add onion and garlic; sauté until browned and fragrant, 3 to 4 minutes. Add collard greens and red pepper flakes; cook and stir until greens are slightly wilted, 2 to 3 minutes.

Add broth, vinegar, brown sugar, liquid smoke, and paprika to the pan. Cover and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Reduce the heat and simmer until greens are very tender, 35 to 45 minutes. Strain before serving.
