1. All-purpose flour, divided - 1 cup
2. Brown sugar - 1 cup
3. Shortening - ¾ cup
4. Molasses - ¼ cup
5. Egg - 1
6. Baking soda - 1 teaspoon
7. Ground ginger - 1 teaspoon
8. Ground cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
9. Ground cloves - ½ teaspoon
10. All-purpose flour - 1 ¼ cups
11. White sugar - ¼ cup

How to cook deliciously - Soft Gingersnaps

1. Stage

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

Beat 1 cup flour, brown sugar, shortening, molasses, egg, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves in a large bowl until thoroughly combined; stir in remaining 1 1/4 cup flour. Shape dough into 1-inch balls and roll in white sugar; place 2 inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet.
