Ingredients for - Tikil Gomen (Ethiopian Cabbage)

1. Vegetable oil - 3 tablespoons
2. Onion, thinly sliced lengthwise - ½
3. Chopped carrots - 1 cup
4. Minced garlic - 1 teaspoon
5. Ground turmeric (Optional) - ¼ teaspoon
6. Salt and ground black pepper to taste - ¼ teaspoon
7. Cabbage, diced and rinsed - ⅔ head
8. Water, or as needed - 2 tablespoons

How to cook deliciously - Tikil Gomen (Ethiopian Cabbage)

1. Stage

Heat oil in a pot over medium heat. Cook onion in hot oil until translucent, about 5 minutes. Stir in carrots, garlic, turmeric, salt, and black pepper. Cook and stir until flavors are combined, about 7 minutes. Add cabbage and mix well.

2. Stage

Cover the pot, reduce heat to medium-low, and cook until cabbage is tender but not completely soft, about 20 minutes. Add water if vegetables look dry.
