Ingredients for - Ann's Shrimp Etouffee

1. Butter - 1 cup
2. White onions, chopped - 2 large
3. Celery, chopped - 6 stalks
4. Garlic, pressed - 3 cloves
5. All-purpose flour - 4 tablespoons
6. Fresh shrimp, peeled, deveined and chopped - 5 pounds
7. Chopped fresh mushrooms - 1 cup
8. Paprika - 3 tablespoons
9. Salt to taste - 3 tablespoons
10. Ground black pepper to taste - 3 tablespoons
11. Crushed red pepper to taste - 3 tablespoons

How to cook deliciously - Ann's Shrimp Etouffee

1. Stage

In a large skillet, melt butter and saute onions, celery and garlic for about 45 minutes or until they are cooked down.

2. Stage

Stir in flour and cook briefly, do not brown. Stir in chopped shrimp and cook for 20 minutes.

3. Stage

Pour in 2 to 3 cups of water and mushrooms. Stir in paprika and season with salt, pepper and red pepper flakes. Cook for 30 minutes. Should be a thick and have a gravy-like consistency.
