1. All-purpose flour - 4 ½ cups
2. Baking soda - 2 teaspoons
3. Butter, softened - 2 cups
4. Packed brown sugar - 1 ½ cups
5. White sugar - ½ cup
6. Instant vanilla pudding mix - 2 (3.4 ounce) packages
7. Eggs - 4
8. Vanilla extract - 2 teaspoons
9. Semisweet chocolate chips - 4 cups
10. Chopped walnuts (Optional) - 2 cups

1. Stage

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Sift together flour and baking soda in a medium bowl, set aside.

Cream together butter, brown sugar, and white sugar in a large bowl. Beat in instant pudding mix until blended. Stir in eggs and vanilla.
