Ingredients for - Braised Collard Greens

1. Collard greens - rinsed, stemmed and thinly sliced - 2 pounds
2. Fresh ham hocks - 2 pounds
3. Salt pork - ½ pound
4. Chicken stock - 3 quarts
5. Chopped onion - 1 cup
6. Bay leaves - 2
7. Red pepper flakes - ¼ teaspoon
8. White sugar - 2 tablespoons
9. Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste - 2 tablespoons
10. Red wine vinegar - 2 teaspoons

How to cook deliciously - Braised Collard Greens

1. Stage

Place ham hocks, salt pork, onion, bay leaves, red pepper flakes, and sugar in a large pot with the chicken stock. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to simmer, and cook for 30 minutes.

Stir collard greens into the pot, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to simmer, and cook for 30 minutes, or until greens are tender. Season with red wine vinegar and salt and pepper to taste.
