2. Day-old bread, cut into 1-inch cubes - 12 slices
3. Dark chocolate chips, or to taste (Optional) - ½ cup
4. Sliced almonds, or to taste (Optional) - ¼ cup
5. Eggs, beaten - 8
6. Milk - 3 cups
7. White sugar - 1 ½ cups
8. Ground cinnamon - 2 teaspoons
9. Vanilla extract - 2 teaspoons
10. Almond extract - 2 teaspoons
11. Ground nutmeg - 1 teaspoon

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Pour melted butter over bread cubes in a 9x13-inch baking dish; toss to coat. Stir chocolate chips and almonds into bread mixture.
