1. Granny Smith apple - 1 medium
2. Macintosh apple - 1 medium
3. Pancake mix - 2 cups
4. Water - 1 ¼ cups
5. Diced cooked ham - 1 cup
6. Ground cinnamon - ½ teaspoon
7. Salt - ½ teaspoon
8. Ground nutmeg - ¼ teaspoon
9. Vegetable oil for frying, or as needed - 1 quart
10. Powdered sugar, or as needed - 2 tablespoons

How to cook deliciously - Ham and Apple Fritters

1. Stage

Peel and core both apples, then grate into a bowl. Add pancake mix, water, ham, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg; mix until fully combined.

Heat 3 inches oil in a deep-fryer or large saucepan to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

Working in batches, drop teaspoonfuls of batter into the hot oil and dry until golden brown and cooked through, 2 to 3 minutes. Try not to overcrowd the pan or let the fritters touch each other. Remove to a paper towel-lined plate and repeat to fry remaining fritters.

Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve.
