1. 1 cup butter-flavored shortening -
2. 3 ounces cream cheese, softened -
3. 1-1/4 cups sugar -
4. 1 large egg yolk, room temperature -
5. 2 teaspoons grated lemon zest -
6. 1 teaspoon lemon extract -
7. 1-1/3 cups all-purpose flour -
8. 1-1/3 cups quick-cooking oats -
9. 1/2 teaspoon salt -
10. Topping: -
11. 1 large egg -
12. 1 large egg white -
13. Sugar -
14. 1/2 cup sliced almonds -

How to cook deliciously - Lemon Oatmeal Sugar Cookies

1. Stage

In a large bowl, cream the shortening, cream cheese and sugar until light and fluffy, 5-7 minutes. Beat in the egg yolk, lemon zest and extract. Combine the flour, oats and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture and mix well.

2. Stage

Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls 2 in. apart onto greased baking sheets. Beat egg and egg white; brush over dough. Sprinkle with sugar; top with almonds.

3. Stage

Bake at 350° until edges are lightly browned, 10-12 minutes. Remove to wire racks.
