1. Italian sausage links, casings removed and cut into pieces - 1 pound
2. Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
3. Lean ground beef - ½ pound
4. Onion, chopped - 1
5. Garlic, chopped - 1 clove
6. Canned tomatoes - 1 (16 ounce) can
7. Canned tomato sauce - 1 (15 ounce) can
8. Salt - 1 teaspoon
9. Dried basil - 1 teaspoon
10. Dried oregano - 1 teaspoon
11. Bay leaf - 1
12. Ground black pepper - ¼ teaspoon

How to cook deliciously - Pasta Sauce with Italian Sausage

1. Stage

Heat a large skillet over medium heat; add sausage and cook until browned, about 10 minutes. Remove sausage and set aside.

2. Stage

Heat olive oil in the same skillet over medium heat. Stir in ground beef, garlic, and onion. Cook and stir until beef is browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes. Drain and discard grease.

Pour in tomatoes and tomato sauce; stir in cooked sausage. Season with salt, basil, oregano, bay leaf, and pepper. Simmer uncovered for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.

Remove bay leaf before serving.
