Ingredients for - Pepper Cookies I

1. All-purpose flour - 2 ½ cups
2. Finely ground almonds - ¼ cup
3. Baking soda - 1 teaspoon
4. Ground cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
5. Ground cardamom - 1 teaspoon
6. Ground ginger - 1 teaspoon
7. Ground allspice - ½ teaspoon
8. Salt - ½ teaspoon
9. Shortening - 1 cup
10. White sugar - 1 cup
11. Egg - 1
12. Corn syrup - ½ cup

How to cook deliciously - Pepper Cookies I

1. Stage

Combine the flour, almonds, baking soda, spices and salt.

2. Stage

In a large bowl, cream the shortening and sugar. Beat in the egg, beat in the corn syrup. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients.

Cover and chill for 8 hours.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).

On a floured surface, roll out the dough to a thickness of 1/4 inch. Using cookie cutters, cut into shapes and place 1 inch apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake for 8-10 minutes until lightly colored. Transfer to wire racks to cool.
