Ingredients for - Ranchero Sauce

1. Bacon - 1 slice
2. Onion, chopped - ½
3. Whole peeled tomatoes, drained and chopped - 1 (14.5 ounce) can
4. Tomato sauce - ¼ (6.5 ounce) can
5. Chopped fresh cilantro, or to taste - ¼ cup
6. Jalapeno pepper, chopped, or to taste - ½
7. Salt and ground black pepper to taste - ½

How to cook deliciously - Ranchero Sauce

1. Stage

Cook bacon in a large skillet over medium-high heat, turning occasionally, until slightly browned and grease forms in the skillet, about 5 minutes. Add onion; cook and stir onion in bacon grease until onion is transparent, 5 to 10 minutes, while continuing to cook bacon until crisp and browned. Remove bacon from the skillet to drain on a paper towel-lined plate; crumble.

2. Stage

Stir chopped tomatoes, tomato sauce, cilantro, jalapeño pepper, crumbled bacon, salt, and black pepper into onion in the skillet. Bring to a simmer and cook until flavors blend, about 15 minutes.
