4. Uncooked barley - 1 cup
5. Carrots, chopped - 2 large
6. Celery, chopped - 2 stalks
7. Onion, chopped - 1
8. Zucchini, chopped - 1
9. Bay leaves - 3
10. Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
11. White sugar - 1 teaspoon
12. Salt - 1 teaspoon
13. Dried parsley - 1 teaspoon
14. Curry powder - 1 teaspoon
15. Paprika - 1 teaspoon
16. Worcestershire sauce - 1 teaspoon
17. Ground black pepper - ½ teaspoon

1. Stage

Pour broth into a large pot. Add beans, tomatoes with juice, barley, carrots, celery, onion, zucchini, and bay leaves. Season with garlic powder, sugar, salt, parsley, curry powder, paprika, Worcestershire sauce, and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat.
