2. Eggs 4 large
3. Vanilla extract 1 teaspoon
4. White sugar 1 teaspoon
5. Ground nutmeg ½ teaspoon
6. Salt 1 pinch
7. Butter, divided, or more as needed 1 tablespoon
8. Dry brioche bread 6 (1 inch) thick slices
9. Butter ¼ cup
10. Maple syrup, or more to taste 6 tablespoons

1 . Stage

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Whisk milk, eggs, vanilla, sugar, nutmeg, and salt together in a bowl.
