Add the sifted flour to the mixture and stir. At this point add the spices: cinnamon and ground ginger. Line a baking dish (24 cm in diameter) with baking paper and grease it with butter. Fill the dish with batter and put it in a preheated oven to 180 degrees. Bake on a low heat for 35-50 minutes, depending on the oven.

Preparation of the custard. Mix sugar and eggs. Pour the milk into the mixture, stirring all the time. Place the mixture on a low heat. Heat until bubbling, stirring constantly.

Cool the cream. Add the room temperature butter. Mix well.

Make a syrup of sugar and water. Let cool, add cognac and mix. Cut the cooled cake into two halves. Soak the cakes in the syrup.

Spread half of the custard on the bottom cake. On top of the custard place cocktail cherries cut in half.

Place the second cake on top. Spread the rest of the cream all over the cake. Put it in the fridge overnight.

Preparation of figures from mastic. Take white mastic and roll out the balls for the body, head and hands of the snowman. Roll out the balls for the hands and give them the desired shape. Roll a long and thin strip of red mastic. Do the same with the white mastic, rolling a long strip of it. Intertwine two thin strips with each other. You will have a scarf. Cut off a small piece of it and thinly roll - a ribbon for the hat of the snowman. Use black mastic to make a hat, eyes and buttons.

Roll out the red mastic into a ball. Continuing to roll, give it an elongated shape. Similarly, make the hands. From the two rolled out white strips of mastic to make a ruffle for the coat. We have the body of Santa Claus. In the same way, make the body of the Snow Maiden, giving it a feminine shape. Mix the pink, yellow and white mastic until homogeneous. From this mass to roll two balls - the heads of Santa Claus and the Snow Maiden. Use white fondant to make the eyes and beard with a mustache, black fondant for the pupils, and red fondant for the lips of the Snow Maiden.

To make a Christmas tree, take a sheet of paper, roll it up into a cone and staple it together. Make thin triangular parts from green mastic. Use a mastic tool to make an imprint. These are fir branches. Take five of these parts and staple their ends together. You will get a circle. Put it on top of a paper cone. And so a few circles, gradually reducing the number of parts in a circle of four, three, two. On top of the Christmas tree to put a star of mastic, and decorate the tree with colored balls of mastic or decorative elements. Make squares of mastic of different colors. On top decorate with thinly rolled strips (ribbons).

Roll out the white mastic with a rolling pin to a thickness of 3 mm. Cover the top of the cake, smooth the sides. Place snowballs made of mastic on the bottom of the cake. Coat the figurines and the Christmas tree with silver candurin to create a sparkling frosting effect.
