1. Fresh blueberries 3 cups
2. White sugar, divided 1 ½ cups
3. Shortening 2 tablespoons
4. Egg 1
5. Milk 1 cup
6. All-purpose flour 1 ½ cups
7. Baking powder 2 teaspoons
8. Salt 1 pinch

1 . Stage

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Arrange blueberries in the bottom of a casserole dish; sprinkle 1 cup sugar over top.

Cream together shortening, remaining 1/2 cup sugar, and egg. Add milk, flour, baking powder, and salt; beat until evenly combined. Drop by spoonfuls on top of blueberries.
