Ingredients for - Crispy Fish

1. Dry potato flakes - 2 cups
2. All-purpose flour - 1 cup
3. Garlic powder - 1 tablespoon
4. Seasoning salt - 1 tablespoon
5. Ground black pepper - 1 tablespoon
6. Cayenne pepper, or to taste - 2 teaspoons
7. Cod - 4 (6 ounce) fillets
8. Butter flavored shortening, for frying - 2 cups

How to cook deliciously - Crispy Fish

1. Stage

In medium bowl, combine the potato flakes, flour, garlic powder, seasoning salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.

2. Stage

Soak fish filets in bowl of cold water.

3. Stage

In a deep skillet or deep fryer, melt and heat the shortening to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

4. Stage

Dredge fish filets in dry mixture and fry in the hot oil for 5 minutes or until fish flakes apart easily. Remove from oil and place on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
