Ingredients for - Easy Gumbo Soup

1. Vegetable oil - 3 tablespoons
2. Garlic, chopped - 5 cloves
3. Celery, chopped - 3 stalks
4. Red bell peppers, seeded and chopped - 2
5. Onion, chopped - 1 medium
6. Dried oregano - 2 teaspoons
7. Creole seasoning (such as Tony Chachere's®), or more to taste - 1 teaspoon
8. Ground black pepper to taste - 1 teaspoon
9. All-purpose flour - ⅓ cup
10. Chicken stock - 3 cups
11. Water - 2 cups
12. Uncooked instant rice (such as Minute®) - 1 cup
13. Frozen cut okra - 16 ounces
14. Smoked kielbasa sausage, halved and sliced thinly - 14 ounces
15. Diced tomatoes, undrained - 1 (14 ounce) can
16. Hot sauce, or to taste - 1 dash
17. Shredded cooked chicken - 1 pound

How to cook deliciously - Easy Gumbo Soup

1. Stage

Heat vegetable oil over medium heat in a large stock pot. Add garlic, celery, bell peppers, onion, oregano, Creole seasoning, and pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, until vegetables are crisp-tender, about 10 minutes.

Sprinkle flour over vegetable mixture and mix well. Cook until golden brown, about 5 minutes.

3. Stage

Pour in chicken stock, water, rice, okra, sausage, tomatoes, and hot sauce. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer until sausage is heated through and vegetables are tender, about 5 minutes. Stir in cooked chicken and heat through, about 5 minutes more. Adjust seasonings to taste.
