2. Buttermilk 2 cups
3. Ground paprika 1 teaspoon
4. Ground black pepper 1 teaspoon
5. Lemons, zested 1 ½
6. All-purpose flour ½ cup
7. Fresh asparagus, trimmed 1 bunch

1 . Stage

Heat 1-inch vegetable oil in a deep-sided skillet over medium heat.

Whisk buttermilk, paprika, black pepper, and lemon zest together in a wide bowl.

Place a paper towel-lined plate near the stove top.
