1. 2 1/2 tbsp. soy sauce -
2. 1 tbsp. sugar -
3. 1 tbsp. Korean red pepper flakes (or 2 teaspoons crushed red pepper) -
4. 1 clove garlic -
5. 1/2 tbsp. toasted sesame oil -
6. 2 tsp. finely grated fresh ginger -
7. 1 tsp. Toasted sesame seeds -
8. 1 container firm tofu -
9. Vegetable oil -
10. 1 scallion -
11. Steamed rice -

How to cook deliciously - Fried Tofu with Spicy Ginger-Sesame Sauce

1. Stage

In a small bowl, whisk the soy sauce with the sugar, red pepper, garlic, sesame oil, ginger, and sesame seeds.

2. Stage

Slice the tofu crosswise into 8 thin slabs. Dry the tofu with paper towels, pressing until no moisture remains.

3. Stage

In a large skillet, heat 1/4-inch oil until shimmering. Add the tofu and cook over moderate heat, turning once, until browned and crisp, about 8 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels. Spoon the sauce over the fried tofu and sprinkle with the scallion. Serve with steamed rice.
