Ingredients for - Granny's Shortbread Cookies

1. Butter, softened 1 cup
2. Confectioners' sugar ½ cup
3. Salt ½ teaspoon
4. Ground nutmeg ⅛ teaspoon
5. Egg yolk 1
6. All-purpose flour 2 cups
7. Red decorator sugar 1 (2.25 ounce) jar
8. Maraschino cherries, drained 1 (10 ounce) jar

How to cook deliciously - Granny's Shortbread Cookies

1 . Stage

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

2 . Stage

Cream together the butter, sugar, salt, nutmeg and egg yolk. Add the flour a little at a time until mixture is stiff.

3 . Stage

Place onto floured board and knead lightly until the dough begins to crack. Roll out 1/4 inch thickness and cut into desired shapes.

4 . Stage

Place on un-greased cookie sheet, decorate with colored sugar crystals and maraschino cherries.

5 . Stage

Bake for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
