3. Onion, chopped - 1
4. Lean ground beef - 1 pound
5. Dried basil - 1 teaspoon
6. Green beans - 1 cup
7. Tomatoes, diced - 1 cup
8. Garlic, minced - 1 clove
9. Potatoes, cooked and mashed - 2
10. Water - ½ cup
11. Egg, beaten - 1 large
12. Shredded Cheddar cheese (Optional) - ¼ cup

How to cook deliciously - Ground Beef Shepherd's Pie

1. Stage

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 2-quart casserole dish with cooking spray.

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook and stir onion in hot oil until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add ground beef and basil. Cook and stir until beef is crumbly and browned, about 5 minutes. Mix in green beans, tomatoes, and garlic; cook until beans are slightly softened, about 5 minutes more. Transfer to the prepared casserole dish.

Mix together mashed potatoes, water, and beaten egg in a medium bowl until smooth. Spread evenly over beef mixture.
