1. Cubed beef chuck roast - 2 pounds
2. Water - 5 cups
3. Beef bouillon, crumbled - 4 cubes
4. Onion, chopped - ½
5. Tomato sauce - 1 (8 ounce) can
6. Uncooked pearl barley - ¾ cup
7. Salt and pepper to taste - ¾ cup
