Ingredients for - Old Fashioned Stuffing

1. White bread, lightly toasted - 30 slices
2. Butter - 2 tablespoons
3. Onion, finely chopped - 1 large
4. Celery, finely chopped - 2 stalks
5. Chicken broth - 2 cups
6. Eggs, lightly beaten - 2 large
7. Water, or as needed (Optional) - 2 tablespoons
8. Rubbed sage - 2 teaspoons
9. Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
10. Salt and ground black pepper to taste - 1 teaspoon

How to cook deliciously - Old Fashioned Stuffing

1. Stage

Spread toasted bread slices on baking sheets and let sit out at room temperature until hard, about 24 hours.  Allrecipes/Oana Ennis

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.

Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir in onion and celery; cook and stir until soft, 5 to 7 minutes. Remove from heat and drain.  Allrecipes/Oana Ennis

Add chicken broth and eggs to bread crumbs; mix until combined and moist, but not mushy. Add water, if necessary, to attain desired consistency. Mix in cooked onion and celery, sage, garlic powder; season with salt and pepper.  Allrecipes/Oana Ennis
