How to cook deliciously - Rosti with ham

A long time ago I read this recipe in a cooking magazine, the name of which I can no longer remember. The recipe was remembered for its ingredients, which any hostess always has. I was captivated by its simplicity. And I liked the ready dish: it was delicious, not banal, and had an original presentation. A dish worthy of a holiday table. Peel potatoes, wash and grate them. Peel and grate onions as well. Mix the onions and potatoes in a bowl, salt and pepper to taste.

Heat the oil in a frying pan. Divide the mixture into four pieces, place in the heated frying pan, press lightly with a spatula. Fry the rosti for about 5 minutes on each side. Place on paper towels to remove any excess fat.

Cut the ham into thin slices.

Place the rosti in a dish suitable for baking in the oven, on top of each rosti put two slices of ham, and one egg, cooked in a "bag".

Grate cheese on a grater.

Mix the cheese with the wheat breadcrumbs. Sprinkle the eggs with the breadcrumbs and grated cheese and place in a preheated grill oven for about 30 seconds until the cheese is melted. Garnish with dill or parsley on top. Serve in portions each.
