1. Potatoes, thinly sliced - 3 pounds
2. Salt and pepper to taste - 3 pounds
3. All-purpose flour - 9 tablespoons
4. Butter, diced - 6 tablespoons
5. Whole milk, or as needed - 1 quart

How to cook deliciously - Scalloped Potatoes Without Cheese

1. Stage

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.

Layer 1/3 of the potatoes in the bottom of the prepared baking dish; season with salt and pepper. Sprinkle 3 tablespoons flour over top, then dot with 1/3 of the butter. Repeat layering twice more, then pour in enough milk to fill the dish 3/4 full.

3. Stage

Bake in the preheated oven, checking every 15 minutes, until milk comes to a boil, 45 to 60 minutes. Reduce the heat to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) and continue to bake until potatoes are tender, 45 to 60 more minutes.
