1. Olive oil - 3 tablespoons
2. Onion, chopped - 1
3. Garlic, chopped - 4 cloves
4. Ground beef - 2 pounds
5. Tomato paste - 2 (6 ounce) cans
6. Tomato sauce - 2 (15 ounce) cans
7. Dried oregano - 4 tablespoons
8. Dried basil leaves - 4 tablespoons
9. Worcestershire sauce - 3 teaspoons
10. Sugar - 2 tablespoons
11. Red pepper flakes - 2 tablespoons
12. Mushrooms, drained - 2 (4.5 ounce) cans
13. Bay leaves - 2
14. Salt - 2 tablespoons

How to cook deliciously - Southern-Style Meat Sauce

1. Stage

Heat olive oil in a large plot. Add onions and simmer on medium heat until semi-soft; stir in garlic. Be careful not to burn. Add ground beef and cook until all pink is gone; drain.

2. Stage

In the pot with drained beef, gently stir in tomato paste and tomato sauce. Mix in oregano, basil, Worcestershire sauce, sugar, red pepper flakes, mushrooms, bay leaves, and salt; bring to a boil. Turn heat down to low and simmer for about 2 hours.
