1. Garbanzo beans (chickpeas), drained and liquid reserved 1 (15.5 ounce) can
2. Jarred jalapeno peppers, diced 8 slices
3. Juice from jarred jalapeno peppers 1 tablespoon
4. Lemon juice 1 tablespoon
5. Olive oil 1 tablespoon
6. Tahini 1 tablespoon
7. Minced garlic 2 teaspoons
8. Cayenne pepper 2 teaspoons
9. Ground cumin ½ teaspoon
10. Dried oregano ½ teaspoon
11. Ground black pepper to taste ½ teaspoon
12. Paprika, or to taste (Optional) 1 pinch

1 . Stage

Blend garbanzo beans, jalapeno peppers, juice from jalapeno peppers, lemon juice, olive oil, tahini, and garlic in a blender or food processor until smooth; add reserved garbanzo bean liquid and blend to reach desired consistency. Add cayenne pepper, cumin, oregano, black pepper, and paprika; blend until smooth.

Chill hummus until flavors blend, about 4 hours.
