1. Grated summer squash - 1 cup
2. All-purpose flour - ½ cup
3. Egg, beaten - 1 large
4. Milk - 2 tablespoons
5. Grated onion - 2 tablespoons
6. White sugar - 1 tablespoon
7. Salt, or to taste - 1 teaspoon
8. Ground black pepper - ¼ teaspoon
9. Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons

How to cook deliciously - Sweet Pan-Fried Squash Patties

1. Stage

Mix grated squash, flour, egg, milk, onion, sugar, 1 teaspoon salt, and pepper in a bowl until well combined.

2. Stage

Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Working in batches, add tablespoonfuls of the squash mixture to the hot oil. Cook until the edges start to brown, 2 to 3 minutes. Flip patties and cook for 2 to 3 more minutes. Drain on paper towels. Repeat to cook remaining patties.

Serve hot and sprinkle with more salt, if desired.
