1. Potatoes, peeled and cut into 3/4-inch cubes 2 pounds
2. Mashed, cooked butternut squash 1 cup
3. Milk, or more to taste ½ cup
4. Salted butter, or more to taste ¼ cup
5. Salt 1 teaspoon
6. Ground black pepper ½ teaspoon

1 . Stage

Place potatoes into a large pot and cover with salted water; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer until tender but not falling apart, 10 to 12 minutes. Drain and transfer to a large bowl.
