1. Butternut squash, halved lengthwise and seeded - 1 large
2. Butter, cut into pieces - 1 tablespoon
3. Salt and ground black pepper to taste - 1 tablespoon

How to cook deliciously - Baked Butternut Squash

1. Stage

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

2. Stage

Place squash, cut-sides down, in a 9x13-inch baking dish. Pour 2 cups water into the dish around the squash halves.

3. Stage

Bake in the preheated oven until tender and easily pierced with a fork, about 1 1/2 hours, adding more water as needed.

4. Stage

Remove from the oven and transfer each half to a plate, cut-side up. Top each half with butter and season with salt and pepper.
