3. Dark brown sugar - 10 tablespoons
4. File powder (powdered sassafras leaves) - 3 tablespoons
5. Ground dried thyme - 2 tablespoons
6. Dried dill weed - 2 tablespoons
7. Dried oregano - 2 tablespoons
8. Dried basil - 2 tablespoons
9. Ground black pepper - 2 tablespoons
10. Garlic powder - 10 tablespoons
11. Onion Powder - 10 tablespoons
12. Cayenne pepper - 1 tablespoon
13. Dry mustard powder - 2 tablespoons
14. Ground allspice - 2 tablespoons
15. Ground dried sage - 2 tablespoons

How to cook deliciously - Bayou's Bodacious Pork Rub

1. Stage

Stir together the salt, paprika, brown sugar, file powder, thyme, dill, oregano, basil, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, mustard, allspice, and sage in a bowl until evenly blended. Store the rub at room temperature in an airtight container.

2. Stage

To use: liberally coat pork butt or brisket with some of the rub, massaging it into the meat. Wrap tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 24 hours. Smoke meat as you normally would.
