1. Frozen hash brown potatoes, thawed 1 (2 pound) package
2. Shredded Cheddar cheese 2 cups
3. Condensed cream of chicken soup 1 (10.5 ounce) can
4. Sour cream 1 (8 ounce) container
5. Butter, melted, divided ¾ cup
6. Chopped onion ½ cup
7. Salt 1 teaspoon
8. Ground black pepper ¼ teaspoon
9. Crushed cornflakes 2 cups

1 . Stage

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

2 . Stage

Combine hash browns, Cheddar cheese, condensed soup, sour cream, 1/2 cup melted butter, onion, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Transfer mixture to a 3-quart casserole dish.

3 . Stage

Sauté cornflakes and remaining 1/4 cup melted butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Sprinkle the mixture over the top of the casserole.
