1. White sugar - 2 cups
2. Shortening - 1 cup
3. Pumpkin Puree - 1 (15 ounce) can
4. Vanilla extract - 2 teaspoons
5. All-purpose flour - 4 cups
6. Baking soda - 2 teaspoons
7. Ground cinnamon - 2 teaspoons
8. Semisweet chocolate chips - 12 ounces

1. Stage

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

Cream the sugar, shortening, pumpkin and vanilla together. Mix until light and well combined.

Mix the flour, baking soda and ground cinnamon. Stir the flour mixture into the creamed mixture. Mix until combined. Stir in the chocolate chips.
