Ingredients for - French Lentil Soup

1. Extra-virgin olive oil - 3 tablespoons
2. Chopped onions - 2 cups
3. Diced celery, with leaves - 1 cup
4. Chopped carrots - 1 cup
5. Garlic, pressed - 2 cloves
6. Ground coriander, or more to taste - ½ teaspoon
7. French green lentils, rinsed - 1 ¼ cups
8. Hot water - 4 cups
9. Bay leaf - 1 large
10. Diced tomatoes, undrained - 1 (14.5 ounce) can
11. Salt - 1 teaspoon
12. Ground black pepper - ½ teaspoon
13. Chicken-flavored vegetable bouillon - 1 cube

How to cook deliciously - French Lentil Soup

1. Stage

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onions, celery, and carrots; saute until soft and just starting to brown, about 10 minutes. Add garlic and coriander and fry for 2 more minutes.

2. Stage

Place in the bottom of a slow cooker. Add vegetable mixture, hot water, diced tomatoes with juice, and bay leaf. Cook on High until lentils are tender, 2 or more hours.

3. Stage

Add bouillon cube, salt, and pepper. Stir, cover, and cook for 20 more minutes. Remove bay leaf and serve.
