How to cook deliciously - Polish beet stew

Boil the beets until cooked.

Peel the beets and grate on a coarse grater. Transfer to a thick saucepan or pot, pour 200 ml of water and simmer over medium heat under a lid for 15 minutes.

Melt lard in a pan, add flour and mix so that there are no lumps, keep on fire until you get a beautiful creamy shade and a pleasant nutty flavor.

Add the fried flour to the beets, salt and pepper to taste, add sugar and lemon juice. Mix well and pour another 100 ml of water, bring to a boil and simmer for another 5 minutes.
