Ingredients for - Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies I

1. Packed brown sugar - 1 cup
2. Shortening - 1 cup
3. Eggs - 2
4. Baking soda - 1 teaspoon
5. Salt - 1 teaspoon
6. Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
7. Sifted all-purpose flour - 2 ½ cups
8. Chopped walnuts - ½ cup
9. Semisweet chocolate chips - 2 cups

How to cook deliciously - Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies I

1. Stage

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

2. Stage

Mix sugar and shortening until smooth and fluffy. Beat eggs and add baking soda which has been dissolved in 1 tablespoon hot water.

3. Stage

Sift flour and salt together and add to the creamed mixture. Add vanilla and fold in nuts and chocolate chips.

4. Stage

Drop by spoonfuls onto lightly greased cookie sheets. Bake for 9 to 10 minutes.
