Ingredients for - Award Winning Chili Con Carne

1. Vegetable oil - 4 tablespoons
2. Green bell pepper, chopped - 1
3. Yellow onion, chopped - 1
4. Lean ground beef - 2 ½ pounds
5. Red wine - ⅔ cup
6. Beef bouillon cubes - 2
7. Whole peeled tomatoes, chopped, juice reserved - 2 (16 ounce) cans
8. Tomato paste - 1 (12 ounce) can
9. Garlic cloves, crushed - 2
10. Dried parsley - 2 tablespoons
11. Dried basil - 2 ½ teaspoons
12. Chili powder - 2 ½ teaspoons
13. Paprika - 1 ½ teaspoons
14. Cayenne pepper - 1 teaspoon
15. Dried oregano - ½ teaspoon
16. Salt - 1 teaspoon
17. Black pepper - ½ teaspoon
18. Kidney beans, drained - 1 (15 ounce) can
19. Hot pepper sauce (e.g. Tabasco™) - 12 drops
20. Flour - 3 tablespoons
21. Corn meal - 3 tablespoons
22. Water - ½ cup

How to cook deliciously - Award Winning Chili Con Carne

1. Stage

Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add green pepper and onion; cook and stir until softened. Stir in ground beef and cook until browned. Stir in wine and crumble over bouillon cubes; cook for a few minutes. Dotdash Meredith Food Studios

Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to medium-low; cover, and simmer for 90 minutes, stirring occasionally.
