Ingredients for - Black Beans

1. Dry black beans, soaked overnight 2 cups
2. Cold water, or as needed 1 quart
3. Onion, chopped 1
4. Green bell pepper, chopped 1
5. Garlic, chopped 5 cloves
6. Bay leaves 2
7. Salt 1 tablespoon
8. Ground cumin 1 tablespoon
9. Dried oregano 1 tablespoon
10. White cooking wine ½ cup
11. Distilled white vinegar ¼ cup
12. Olive oil ¼ cup

How to cook deliciously - Black Beans

1 . Stage

In a medium stockpot, combine soaked beans (see Editor's Note), water, onion, green pepper, garlic, bay leaves, salt, cumin and oregano. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat; reduce heat to low. Simmer, covered, until beans are tender, about 1 hour. Stir occasionally and add water as necessary so that the beans don't dry out or scorch.

2 . Stage

When beans are tender, stir in wine, vinegar, and olive oil.
