1. Beef pot roast - 1 (3 pound)
2. Onion, diced - 1
3. Fresh mint leaves - 1 cup
4. Garlic, minced, or more to taste - 2 cloves
5. Ground cinnamon - 2 teaspoons
6. Ground allspice - 2 teaspoons
7. Bay leaves, or more to taste - 2
8. Salt and ground black pepper to taste - 2
9. Water to cover - 2
10. Cabbage, quartered, or more to taste - 1 head

How to cook deliciously - Portuguese Sopas

1. Stage

Place pot roast, onion, mint, garlic, cinnamon, allspice, and bay leaves in a large pot. Season with salt and pepper. Pour in enough water to cover the roast. Cook over medium heat until roast is tender, adding more water if needed, about 4 hours.

2. Stage

Stir cabbage wedges into the pot. Simmer until cabbage is tender, about 30 minutes.
