1. Olive oil - 3 tablespoons
2. Cubed pork shoulder roast - 1 pound
3. Cubed beef stew meat - 1 pound
4. Chicken broth - 4 cups
5. Bone-in chicken parts - 1 ½ pounds
6. Diced potatoes - 2 cups
7. Diced carrots - 1 cup
8. Stewed tomatoes - 1 (15 ounce) can
9. Smoky barbeque sauce - 1 cup
10. Green beans - 1 cup
11. Diced okra - 1 cup
12. Corn - 1 cup
13. Diced onion - ¾ cup
14. Green bell pepper, seeded and diced - 1
15. Diced celery - ½ cup
16. Apple cider vinegar - ¼ cup
17. Worcestershire sauce - 1 tablespoon
18. Garlic, chopped - 3 cloves
19. Bay leaves - 3
20. Salt - 1 teaspoon
21. Ground black pepper - ½ teaspoon
22. Hot pepper sauce, or to taste - 1 dash

How to cook deliciously - Traditional Kentucky Burgoo

1. Stage

Heat olive oil in an 8-quart pot over medium heat; brown pork and beef cubes in the hot oil, working in batches if necessary.

2. Stage

Stir in chicken broth, chicken pieces, potatoes, and carrots. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low, and simmer stew for 1 hour.

3. Stage

Stir in stewed tomatoes, barbeque sauce, green beans, okra, corn, onion, green bell pepper, celery, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, bay leaves, salt, black pepper, and hot pepper sauce.

4. Stage

Bring stew back to a boil, reduce heat to low, and simmer 1 more hour.

Discard bay leaves before serving stew in bowls.
