3. Onion, diced - 1 large
4. Garlic, minced - 4 cloves
5. Bay leaves - 2 large
6. Paprika - 2 tablespoons
7. Italian seasoning - 2 teaspoons
8. Kosher salt - 2 teaspoons
9. Ground black pepper - ½ teaspoon
10. Cayenne pepper, or to taste - 1 pinch
11. Chicken broth - 1 quart
12. Marinara sauce - 1 (24 ounce) jar
13. Diced tomatoes - 1 (15 ounce) can
14. Water - 1 cup
15. Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
16. Elbow macaroni - 2 cups
17. Chopped Italian parsley - ¼ cup
18. Shredded white Cheddar cheese (Optional) - 1 cup

Heat oil in a pot over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and onion; cook and stir until beef is browned and crumbly and onion is translucent, about 5 minutes. Cook, stirring occasionally, until flavors come together, about 3 minutes. Pour in broth, marinara sauce, and diced tomatoes. Pour water into the sauce jar, swirl, and pour into the pot.
