How to cook deliciously - Crab Mac and Cheese

1. Stage

Cook the macaroni according to the package directions. Editor’s Tip: The pasta will be baked later, so cook it to al dente to prevent it from getting too soft.

2. Stage

While the macaroni is cooking, saute the onion in butter in a large skillet until tender. Combine the flour and milk until smooth, then stir them into the pan. Bring to a boil, then cook and stir until the mixture has thickened, one to two minutes. Remove the pan from the heat. Preheat your oven to 350°F.

3. Stage

Drain the macaroni well. Add the crabmeat, sour cream, Swiss cheese, salt, mustard, macaroni and 1/4 cup of the cheddar cheese to the skillet. Editor’s Tip: Make sure the pasta is still hot when you add it to the crab-and-cheese mixture.

4. Stage

Transfer everything to an 11x7-inch baking dish coated with cooking spray. Sprinkle with the remaining cheddar cheese. Bake the dish, uncovered, until heated through, 20 to 25 minutes.
