Ingredients for - Savory Party Bread

1. 1 unsliced round loaf sourdough bread (1 pound) -
2. 1 pound Monterey Jack cheese -
3. 1/2 cup butter, melted -
4. 1/2 cup chopped green onions -
5. 2 to 3 teaspoons poppy seeds -

How to cook deliciously - Savory Party Bread

1. Stage

Preheat the oven to 350°F. Cut the round sourdough loaf widthwise into 1-inch slices, stopping about 1/2 inch from the bottom of the loaf so that the bread stays intact. Repeat the cuts in the opposite direction, creating a grid pattern. Slice the Monterey Jack cheese into small pieces and wedge them into the cuts in the bread.

2. Stage

In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, chopped green onions and poppy seeds. Drizzle the butter mixture evenly over the bread, ensuring that it gets into all the cuts and covers the surface.

3. Stage

Wrap the bread in aluminum foil and place it on a baking sheet. Bake at 350° for 15 minutes, then unwrap and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and the bread is golden and crispy. Sprinkle with additional minced chives if desired and serve warm.
