1. Unsalted butter - 2 tablespoons
2. Celery ribs, sliced - 2
3. Onion, chopped - 1 medium
4. Carrot, diced - 1 large
5. All-purpose flour - 2 teaspoons
6. Chopped cabbage - 6 cups
7. Chicken broth - 6 cups
8. Cubed fully cooked ham - 1 pound
9. Red potatoes, chopped - 1 pound
10. Dried parsley - 1 teaspoon
11. Ground thyme - ¼ teaspoon
12. Dried marjoram - ¼ teaspoon
13. Ground black pepper - ¼ teaspoon
14. Frozen peas - ½ cup

How to cook deliciously - Hearty Cabbage and Ham Soup

1. Stage

Melt butter in a large stockpot over medium-high heat. Add celery, onion, and carrot. Saute for 4 minutes. Stir in flour and cook 1 minute more.

Add cabbage, broth, ham, potatoes, parsley, thyme, marjoram, and ground pepper. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, reduce heat, and simmer until potatoes are tender, about 30 minutes.
