3. Cold water - 1 cup
4. Eggs - 3 large
5. Vegetable oil - ¼ cup
6. Vanilla extract, divided - 1 1/2 teaspoons
7. Sweetened condensed milk - 1 (14 ounce) can
8. Evaporated milk - 1 (12 fluid ounce) can
9. Half-and-half - 1 cup
10. Heavy whipping cream - 1 cup
11. White sugar, or to taste - 1 tablespoon

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Generously grease a 10x15-inch baking dish with shortening.

Beat together cake mix, cold water, eggs, oil, and 1 teaspoon vanilla in a large bowl with an electric mixer until very smooth, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed.
