1. Mashed strawberries - 1 cup
2. Water, or more if needed - ¾ cup
3. White sugar - ¾ cup
4. Cornstarch - 3 tablespoons
5. Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
6. Salt - ¼ teaspoon
7. Sliced strawberries - 4 cups

How to cook deliciously - Strawberry Pie Filling

1. Stage

Combine mashed strawberries and water in a saucepan; bring to a boil and simmer for about 3 minutes.

2. Stage

Strain juice from cooked strawberries and add enough water to make 1 cup of juice. Discard pulp.

3. Stage

Combine sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, and salt in a saucepan; stir strawberry juice into the sugar mixture. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, until clear and thick, 3 to 5 minutes. Remove from heat and cool slightly.

4. Stage

Stir sliced strawberries into the strawberry sauce.
