1. Butter flavored shortening - ¾ cup
2. Brown sugar - 1 ¼ cups
3. Egg - 1
4. Milk - ⅓ cup
5. Vanilla extract - 1 ½ teaspoons
6. Rolled oats - 3 cups
7. All-purpose flour - 1 cup
8. Baking soda - ½ teaspoon
9. Ground cinnamon - ¼ teaspoon
10. Chopped walnuts - 1 cup
11. Raisins (Optional) - 1 cup

How to cook deliciously - Chewy Oatmeal Cookies II

1. Stage

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.

2. Stage

In a large bowl, cream together the butter flavored shortening and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the egg then stir in the milk and vanilla. Mix in the flour, oats, baking soda and cinnamon until well blended. Fold in the walnuts and if desired, raisins. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto the prepared cookie sheet.

3. Stage

Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
