1. Butter - 1 cup
2. Shortening - ½ cup
3. White sugar - 3 cups
4. Egg whites - 5
5. Egg yolks - 5
6. Unsweetened cocoa powder - 4 tablespoons
7. All-purpose flour - 3 cups
8. Baking powder - ½ teaspoon
9. Salt - ½ teaspoon
10. Milk - 1 cup
11. Vanilla extract - 2 teaspoons
12. Chopped pecans - 1 cup

How to cook deliciously - Chocolate Pound Cake II

1. Stage

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 10 inch tube pan.

2. Stage

Sift together flour, cocoa and salt. Set aside.

3. Stage

Cream margarine and shortening. Gradually add sugar while beating. Add egg yolks one at a time and beat well after each addition.

4. Stage

Add flour mixture alternately with milk. Add vanilla.

5. Stage

In a separate bowl, beat egg whites until stiff. Fold into cake batter.

6. Stage

Pour into a greased and floured tube pan. Sprinkle nuts on top.

7. Stage

Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Do not over bake.
